Packers fall to the Komets

26 Feb

The Packer’s season ended with a loss to Kasson to 66-40.  The Packers fell behind early and could not get on track all night.

The Packers finished the season 14-13, with 9 of those losses coming within 4 points or less.  The Packers will graduate 6 seniors, Gach Gach, Jon Knorr, Noah Brehmer, Levi Vierkandt, Connor Bollum and Nik Gasner.

The Fast Break Club would like to thank the seniors for their leadership and hard work.  Most of these boys have played youth basketball since 4th grade and have spent countless weekends at tournaments.  We appreciate all the time their parents took to drive, coach and cheer their players on over the years.

The club also wants to thank Coach Fadness and his staff for the time and energy they have put in this season, we have a great coaching staff and they devoted themselves to the team again this year.

Lastly, the Fast Break Club would like to thank the Packer faithful.  We have the best fan base in the Big 9, bar none.  You have filled the stands and made each game fun for the players.  Our student section was great all year, cheering on their team, win or lose.  They brought enthusiasm to the court and made it a special environment.  Thank you.

Thanks for a great season!  Go Pack!

Packers Blow Out the Huskies

22 Feb

It was expected to be a low scoring, defensive battle.  Owatonna, coming off a victory over then, league leading Red Wing, came to Austin with confidence and big expectations.  They left dejected and wondering what happened.  Austin came to play and totally controlled the game hitting 13 -3’s and defensively shutting down Owatonna.  Owatonna’s fans tried to cheer their team on, but a full house of excited Austin fans had more to cheer about and easily kept the momentum on their side.

Austin has been playing their best ball of the season and our now headed into the post season.  Austin is the #3 seed and will host Kasson-Mantorville the 6th seed on Wednesday night at 7pm.  (note the time)
