Austin traveled to Rochester Friday night and used smothering defense to build a 25-10 halftime lead (and a second-half margin as large as 29 points) en route to a 53-38 win.
The Packers’ victory, combined with Winona’s 81-61 win over Rochester John Marshall, gives the Packers a three-game lead in the Big Nine standings with three games remaining, guaranteeing at least a share of their second straight conference title.
Zach Wessels led the scoring with 14, while Tom Aase added 11, Joe Aase and Bret Lukes 7 each, Ajuda Nywesh 6 and Collin Weisert and Gach Gach 4 each.
