With a 78-43 rout of Rochester John Marshall Friday night, the Austin Packers have guaranteed themselves at least a share of the Big Nine conference title for the first time since 1999.
The Packers are a full game ahead of both Owatonna and Mankato East, and host the Huskies next Friday in the season finale with a chance to claim solo possession of the crown.
It was Senior Night on Friday, and the Packers used a balanced scoring attack and defense that led to layups to cruise to victory. Zach Wessels led the way with 18 points, while Tom Aase had 14, Nate Schwab 12, Goliath Oboyo 9, Joe Aase and Zach Vierkandt 6 each, Bret Lukes 5 and Collin Weisert and Ryan Larson 4 each.
