Playing their last home game of the season before a capacity crowd at Packer Gym, the Austin boys raced to a 22-0 lead over Winona in the first few minutes of their Section 1AAA semifinal game en route to a 78-46 win Saturday night.
The Packers used pressure defense and crisp passing the fueled a balanced scoring attack, with seven players tallying six or more points. Joe Aase led in scoring with 24 points, while Tom Aase added 10, Goliath Oboyo 8, a trio (Nathan Schwab, Zach Vierkandt and Zach Wessels) with 7 each, Collin Weisert 6, Bret Lukes 4, Jake Kempen 3 and Ryan Larson 2.
