30 Jan

The Austin Packers boys basketball team scored exactly twice as many points on Tuesday as they did on Friday, but still came away with convincing wins against Faribault and Rochester Century.

With the 78-55 win over Faribault and the 39-26 defeat of Century, the Packers have won five of their last six and are now over the .500 mark for the first time this year, at 8-7. They’re 7-3 in Big Nine Conference action.

In the Faribault contest on Tuesday, the Packers’ first 24 points came from three-pointers. Matt Duren had a huge night with 23 points, while Zach Wessels had 11, Tom Aase 10, Andrew Kaiser 9, Zach Fadness 9, Joe Aase 8, Jay Ettinger 3, Max Coffey 3 and Caleb Knorr 2.
