Packers ground Winhawks on Senior Night

Senior night for the 17-3 Packers proved to be a good one as they defeated Winona 62-46 Friday in Packer gym. All five seniors, Jacob Kempen, Bret Lukes, Ajuda Nywesh, Zach Wessels and Curtis Oberbroeckling started the game and got the team out to an early lead which they held the entire game.

Austin is holding their opponents to an average of 48.9 points/game – second best in class 3A.

The Packers look to improve their current 7 game win streak when they travel to Faribault Saturday to take on the Falcons at 3:00pm.

Packers hot shooting buries Century

Austin traveled to Rochester Century on Friday night and came home with a 75-46 victory. The Packers opened the game with a 13-0 run and led at halftime by a score of 44-16. The win improved their overall record to 16-3 and 11-0 in conference play.

Packers down West in OT thriller

In recent games, it seems the #4 ranked Austin Packers are getting the oppositions best efforts. Tuesday nights game in Mankato against West was no exception. The Packers needed overtime to pull out a 73-70 victory and to raise their conference record to 10-0 (15-3 overall).

Austin wins rematch with Albert Lea

Despite a sluggish second half plagued with foul trouble the Packers defeated Albert Lea 56-44 Friday night to improve to 9-0 in conference and 14-3 overall.

Congratulations to Zach Wessels who became the all-time leading scorer for Austin High Boys Basketball. Zach sits at 1341 points so far in his 4 year varsity career, surpassing previous record holder Joe Aase. Read more in the Austin Daily Herald

Austin rolls to 8-0 conference record

The Packers raced out to an early lead and never looked back as they defeated Rochester Mayo 73-42, Thursday night in Packer gym. Austin once again took care of the ball as they committed only 3 turnovers while forcing mayo into 22 turnovers.
