Packers edged out

Packers lost another heart breaker by 1 point last night, 53 to 54 to Caledonia.  Austin started fast opening on a 11-0 run. However, Caledonia, got hot and hit several 3 pointers to lead at half by 11 points.  The second half Austin closed the gap but could not pull out the victory.  The Packers (5-6 overall) have now lost six games by a total of 14 points.

Packers fall to Simley

Packers started slow Monday night, trailing Simley 14 to 24 at the half.  The Pack had better intensity late in the game and made in close but could not pull out the victory.  Austin lost to Simley, 49 to 52.  The Packers will return on Tuesday, to Winona State, to take on a tough Caledonia team.

Warrior Classic Tournament

The Packers will return to action on Monday night at Winona State University.  The Packers will take on Simley (5-4).  Simley is in section 4AAA.  Simley started the season going 5-1 but have lost 3 in a row, most recently at New Prague.  Austin is currently on a 2 game win streak and is also 5-4.

The  Packer will play Simley at 6:45pm at the McCown Gymnasium, the JV will play at 3:15pm.

The Packers will return to Winona State on Tuesday at 6:45pm to play Caledonia (7-1), the JV to play at 4pm.

Packers defeat the Komets

23 Dec

The Packers traveled to Kasson-Mantorville on Monday night and defeated the Komets 62-55.  Austin was led by Levi Vierkandt who was 8-9 from the field for 22 points.  Vierkandt hit a key 3-pointer to put Austin up for good in the final minutes.  Gach Gach had very strong second half, getting rebounds and hitting some key 3-pointers.  It was a good team win as the Packers looked good down the stretch.  Austin is now 5-4 on the season.

The Packers will be in action again on Dec. 29, Monday night at the Warrior Classic at Winona State University. The  Pack will play Simley (5-3) at 6:45pm at the McCown Gymnasium, the JV will play at 3:15pm.  The Packers will return to Winona State on Tuesday at 6:45pm to play Caledonia (5-1), the JV to play at 4pm.

Packers defeat Century Panthers

20 Dec

The Austin Boys defeated Rochester Century at home Friday Night 61 to 47.  Austin’s defense again led the way forcing Century into 23 turnovers. Offensively, the Packers were led by the Freshman Both Gach with four 3 pointers, scoring a total of 14 points.

Austin will travel on Monday to play an important section game vs Kasson Mantorville.
