Austin wins rematch with Albert Lea

Despite a sluggish second half plagued with foul trouble the Packers defeated Albert Lea 56-44 Friday night to improve to 9-0 in conference and 14-3 overall.

Congratulations to Zach Wessels who became the all-time leading scorer for Austin High Boys Basketball. Zach sits at 1341 points so far in his 4 year varsity career, surpassing previous record holder Joe Aase. Read more in the Austin Daily Herald

Austin rolls to 8-0 conference record

The Packers raced out to an early lead and never looked back as they defeated Rochester Mayo 73-42, Thursday night in Packer gym. Austin once again took care of the ball as they committed only 3 turnovers while forcing mayo into 22 turnovers.

Austin returns to action 7:30 tonight at home against Albert Lea.

Packers dominate KoMets

The Packers raced out to a 51-31 halftime lead and cruised to an 88-60 victory over the Kasson-Mantorville KoMets.  Austin used a red hot outside shooting attack along with an aggressive defense that created numerous points off turnovers to improve their section record to 5-0 and 12-3 overall.

Austin will be back on the court in a rescheduled game at home this Thursday, January 23rd against Rochester Mayo.

Packers on top of Big Nine

The Packer boys took sole possession of first place in the Big Nine conference with a 58-55 win over Rochester John Marshall. The win was the programs 33rd consecutive conference victory spanning three years and improved the current teams record to 11-3 overall and 7-0 in conference play.

The boys have little time to rest as they will be back in Packer gym at 7:30 tonight with a game against Kasson-Mantorville.

Battling for the conference lead

The Austin Packers and Rochester John Marshall Rockets will compete 7:30 Friday night in Packer Gym for the conference lead. Both teams come into the contest with identical 10-3 overall and undefeated conference records. Arrive early, be loud and wear red as it is a “Red Out”.
