The Pac hit the floor at Mayo High School and held the scoring of Mayo’s big boys, Hicks and Kuipers, in the first half. The hot hand of John Stevens scored Austin’s first 13 points of the game. The Packers played with intensity scoring five consecutive points in the second half. With seven minutes left in the game, Hicks made a controversial dunk from a teammate’s miss that appeared to be in the cylinder. The Packers played great defense but could not hang on for the win as the buzzer sounded with a score of 53-40. The Packers are 1-2 overall and 1-1 in the Big Nine. They host Faribault at home on Tuesday night. Let’s fill the gym and make some noise!
